Frankie keeps success in Wainman familiy

The 14-year-old is yet another success story from the Silsden stockcar-racing family.

Up against 25 other drivers, the teenager battled his way to victory at Northampton in a nail-biting finish to the chequered flag.

Starting from the fourth row on the outside, Frankie had his work cut out but, after the first corner, he had made already made his way up into second position.

The next 20 laps were a joy to watch, with various race leaders swapping places. Frankie kept his cool and crossed the line with just a foot to spare against fellow Yorkshire driver Jedd Stirk.

In third place and taking her first major final podium was Frankie's cousin Cammy Dorrell.

Frankie is among a small handful of drivers to win the title on more than one occasion. Once he finishes Ministox in just over a year's time, he hopes to join his father, Frankie Wainman Junior in racing BriSCA Formula One stock cars.

Older sister Phoebe, aged 18, is currently third in the V8 formula competition and starts on the third row inside for her final at Skegness on October 11.
